Stampede Drilling (SDI.V) said Tuesday after trade it currently has no drilling rig in Greenland.
The company's rig, which was meant to be deployed by its customer, US-based Greenland Energy, in its drilling program in the Jameson Land Basin in Greenland, remains in Canada.
"Inaccurate information has appeared on various social media platforms," a statement from the company said. It reiterated that it will not be landing a drilling rig in Greenland unless Greenland Energy's drilling program receives the requisite regulatory consents and approvals by Greenland's authorities.
Stampede had said at the end of June that it planned to mobilize the rig from Nisku, Alberta, in the third quarter of this year.
Reports on August 10 said Greenland Energy had moved drilling equipment to the island's east coast.
Stampede Drilling shares closed down C$0.005, to C$0.235, on the TSX Venture Exchange.
