Spain's private sector activity continued to expand in August 2026 for the fourth straight month as a solid increase in the service sector offset the biggest decline in manufacturing output since December 2023.
The S&P Global Spain Composite PMI Output Index dropped to 55.8 from 56.5 in July, S&P Global said Thursday.
For the service sector, the PMI came in at 57.8, against the previous 58.3 and the consensus estimate of 59, marking the second-highest reading in nearly 3.5 years.
