Spanish Annual Inflation Rate Rises to 3.5% in July, Flash Data Shows

Spain's annual inflation accelerated to 3.5% in July from 3.2% in June, according to provisional data from the National Statistics Institute published Thursday.

The reading is above the consensus estimate of 3.2% on Investing.com.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices in Spain were up 0.2%, as expected, and against the previous 0.6% gain.

The Spanish annual harmonized inflation rate came in at 3.8%, higher than the previous 3.6% and the market forecast of 3.7%. Month over month, harmonized consumer prices declined 0.1%, compared with the 0.6% rise earlier and the expected 0.2% decrease.

Meanwhile, the country's annual core inflation rate edged up to 3% from 2.9%.

Total Dwellings Approved in Australia Rise in June

The number of total dwellings approved in Australia in seasonally adjusted terms recorded an increase of 7.2% month on month to 18,328 in June and 8.9% year on year, according to figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics released on Thursday.The number of total dwellings approved in June 2025 was 17,076, an earlier release showed.Approvals for total dwellings showed mixed results in different states in June, with increases in Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia, whereas decreases were noted in Tasmania, Victoria, and South Australia.Private sector houses increased by 0.4% to 10,631 units in June after rising 2.4% in May, while private sector dwellings, excluding houses, saw a rise of almost 18% to 7,138 units after an 11% fall in May.Total residential building value grew past 15% to AU$11.75 billion, while total non-residential building value decreased by about 25% to AU$8.26 billion.
