South Star Battery Metals (STS.V) on Tuesday said it made its first graphite shipment from the Santa Cruz plant in Brazil.
South Star completed the commissioning phase of the plant during the first week of May, following which the plant progressed into its ramp-up toward intended operations. All major equipment is now operational, and newly hired employees have completed training and transitioned into their permanent production roles, South Star said.
Since restarting the plant, South Star has processed 5,136 tonnes of run-of-mine ore and produced 25 tonnes of graphite concentrate.
The plant achieved graphite concentrate grades of up to 97% carbon during the first month of startup, the company said.
The company's shares were last seen up $0.005 to $0.145 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
