South Korean shares opened sharply lower on Thursday, owing to an overnight rout of technology stocks on Wall Street and an escalation in the U.S.-Iran war.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index, or Kospi, fell 2.9%, or 221.2 points, to open at 7,509.62. The Kosdaq declined 1.5%, or 14.46 points, to open at 937.17.
