South Korea's unemployment rate was unchanged at 2.9% in May versus the previous month, according to data from the Ministry of Data and Statistics released on Thursday.
However, the reading was up from 2.8% a year earlier.
The labor force participation rate rose to 65.2% in May from 64.9% in April, while the total number of employed persons edged up to 29.12 million from 28.96 million a month ago.
