South Korea tallied 1.99 million foreign tourists in June, rising 23.1% from a year ago, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said Tuesday.
The total number of foreign tourists reached 10.71 million in the first half of 2026, up 21.3% year over year, the government agency said.
China had the largest share of visitors for the month with 650,000 arrivals, followed by Japan with 350,000 and Taiwan with 220,000.
Visitors from North America reached 220,000, with Europe tallying 120,000 and six major Southeast Asian countries with 230,000.
Air travel accounted for the majority of the mode of transportation, totaling 1.74 million people.
Foreign credit card spending hit 2.54 trillion won in June, bringing the total to more than 10 trillion won in the first half.
