South Korea's consumer sentiment improved in August, with the Composite Consumer Sentiment Index rising 2.1 points to 106.6, according to data from the Bank of Korea on Wednesday.
The reading compared with the 104.5 print recorded in the previous month, and against Trading Economics' 104.8 forecast.
A reading above 100 indicates optimism, while a reading below suggests a deteriorating outlook.
The sub-index for current living standards steadied at 92, while the consumer sentiment index for future conditions climbed to 98 from 97.
Meanwhile, inflation expectations for the upcoming 12 months were unchanged at 2.7%.
