South Korea Logs Trade Surplus in August as Exports Jump 68.7%, Imports Rise 22.5%

South Korea recorded a trade surplus of $34.7 billion in August, compared with $30.4 billion in the previous month, data showed Tuesday.

The data beat the forecast for a trade surplus of $30.7 billion, according to Investing.com.

Exports increased by 68.7% to $98.3 billion from the year-ago period, while imports expanded 22.5% to $63.5 billion, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy added.
