Singapore's merchandise trade surplus ballooned to SG$13.8 billion in June from SG$5.57 billion in the prior month, according to data from Statistics Singapore released on Friday.
The latest figure marked the largest surplus since April 2025, beating the Trading Economics forecast of SG$6.0 billion in surplus.
Total merchandise exports increased to SG$85.98 billion from SG$83.18 billion recorded in the previous month and from SG$59.09 billion a year prior.
Meanwhile, total merchandise imports rose to SG$72.17 billion from SG$49.47 billion in June 2025, but fell from SG$77.62 billion in May.
