Singapore's total retail sales rose 1.5% year-over-year to SG$4.4 billion in July, following a 4.0% increase in the prior month, according to data from the Statistics Department released on Monday.
The reading missed the 4.3% growth forecast tracked by Trading Economics.
Excluding motor vehicles, parts and accessories, retail sales also rose 1.5% year over year, compared with a 4.1% increase in the preceding month.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, retail sales increased 0.9%, extending the 0.9% rise in June.
Excluding motor vehicles, parts and accessories, retail sales edged up 0.7% from the previous month.
