Singapore's total employment increased by 9,400 in the first quarter, extending its growth streak to 18 consecutive quarters, according to a Ministry of Manpower report released Monday.
The increase was driven by resident employment, which rose by 5,400 in the quarter, up from 3,100 in the previous quarter.
The overall unemployment rate held steady at 2.0% in March, while the rates for residents and citizens were 2.9% and 3.1%, respectively.
