Singapore's banking sector lent a record SG$939.1 to consumers and businesses in July, up from SG$931.3 billion in June, according to data released Monday by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
The lending value missed the Trading Economics forecast of SG$950.0 billion and compared with the SG$854.0 billion in loans extended a year earlier.
Business loans jumped to SG$572.8 billion from SG$569.2 billion in June, while consumer loans edged up to SG$366.3 billion from SG$362.1 billion a month prior.
