Shionogi's (TYO:4507) attributable profit to owners jumped 148% during the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 to 97.7 billion yen from 39.3 billion yen a year earlier, according to a Monday filing with the Tokyo Exchange.
Diluted earnings per share came in at 114.78 yen compared with 46.25 yen in the year-ago period.
Revenue surged 64% year over year to 163.3 billion yen from 99.8 billion yen.
The pharmaceutical company forecasted an attributable profit of 108 billion yen, basic earnings per share of 126.91 yen and a revenue of 340 billion yen for the fiscal six months ending Sept. 30.
