Sempra Infrastructure, a subsidiary of California-based energy holding company Sempra (SRE), on Tuesday said that its Port Arthur Pipeline Louisiana Connector project has become operational.
The project will supply gas to the under-construction Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 facility, which is projected to have a nameplate capacity of about 13 million tonnes per annum, the company said in a statement.
It will also link to Sempra Infrastructure's Gillis Hub Pipeline, a major natural gas network in southwest Louisiana, and the company's under-construction LA Storage facility, helping transport natural gas in and out of storage along the Gulf Coast, the statement added.
Built at a capital expenditure of less than $1 billion, the Port Arthur Pipeline Louisiana Connector comprises of 72-miles of 42-inch pipeline, a compressor station in Beauregard Parish, Louisiana and other associated facilities.
