Technology stocks were mixed premarket Thursday, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down 0.9% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) 0.1% higher.
Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google was fined a total of 890 million euros ($1.04 billion) by the European Commission on Thursday after the regulator found the company violated the Digital Markets Act through self-preferencing in Google Search and anti-steering practices on Google Play. Shares of Alphabet were down more than 4% pre-bell.
ServiceNow (NOW) stock was up more than 5% after the company reported higher Q2 adjusted earnings and revenue.
Roper Technologies (ROP) shares were up more than 6% after the company posted higher Q2 adjusted earnings and revenue, and raised its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance.
