Healthcare stocks were edging higher premarket Wednesday, with the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) up 0.3% and the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) marginally advancing.
Repligen (RGEN) has agreed to acquire BioLife Solutions (BLFS) in a deal valued at $1.5 billion, the companies said. Shares of Repligen were down more than 4% and BioLife Solutions stock was up more than 2% pre-bell.
Royalty Pharma (RPRX) said it will pay up to $425 million, including a $125 million upfront payment, to Neurimmune for a 3% to 4% royalty on worldwide net sales of its interest in AstraZeneca's (AZN) cliramitug. Royalty Pharma stock was down more than 1% pre-bell.
Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) shares were 0.8% higher after the company reported that it swung to a Q2 net income as revenue increased during the period.
