Financial stocks were edging higher premarket Tuesday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) advancing by 0.3%.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 0.4% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.4% lower.
Tradeweb Markets (TW) shares were up more than 5% after the company said it upgraded its Ai-Price bond pricing engine with "expanded data inputs" and "more real-time, intraday-responsive pricing" for US corporate bonds.
UBS Group (UBS) is calling for better capital rules, noting that the proposal for it to back foreign units with a 90% common equity tier 1 capital is "de facto the same" as the Swiss government's suggested 100% CET1 capital, according to a FactSet transcript of remarks from UBS Chief Executive Sergio Ermotti at an event. UBS Group stock was down more than 1% pre-bell.
Blackstone's (BX) non-binding proposal to acquire IDP Education for 2.5 Australian dollar per share ($1.78) has been rejected, the ASX-listed company said. Blackstone shares were 0.2% higher premarket.
