Consumer stocks were declining premarket Tuesday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) down 0.4% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) 0.7% lower.
United Natural Foods (UNFI) shares were up more than 2% after the company reported that it swung to fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings from a loss a year earlier.
Philip Morris International (PM) raised its 2026 adjusted diluted earnings guidance to $8.35 to $8.50 per share, up from $8.26 to $8.41. Philip Morris stock was 0.4% lower pre-bell.
General Mills (GIS) shares were up 1.1% after the company reaffirmed its fiscal 2027 adjusted earnings guidance of $3.00 to $3.20 per diluted share.
