Consumer stocks were advancing premarket Friday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) 0.5% higher and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) up 0.6%.
BJ's Wholesale Club (BJ) stock was up more than 1% after the company reported higher fiscal Q2 adjusted earnings and revenue, and raised its fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings per share guidance.
Buckle (BKE) shares were up more than 6% after the company posted higher fiscal Q2 net sales.
Royal Caribbean (RCL) stock was 1% higher after the company said it has completed a registered public offering of $1.25 billion of 5.55% senior unsecured notes due 2034.
