Consumer stocks were higher late Friday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) increasing 0.4% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) adding 1%.
In corporate news, Lucid (LCID) is recalling 27,185 of its Air luxury US sedans because an exterior lighting circuit could overheat and increase the risk of a fire, Reuters reported, citing the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Lucid is distributing an online software patch to fix the defect, with 20,719 affected vehicles already receiving the update, the report said. Lucid shares were down 2.1%.
