Consumer stocks were leaning lower premarket Thursday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) down 0.6% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) declining by 0.4%.
Dollar General (DG) stock was up more than 7% after the company reported higher fiscal Q2 earnings and net sales, and raised its fiscal 2026 outlook.
