The S&P/TSX Composite Index is up 40 points Thursday mid-morning with information technology and the healthcare sectors posting the biggest gains.
Information technology is up 1.8%, while the healthcare sector has climbed 1.2%.
Limiting gains are base metals and energy, which are down 1.5% and 0.4%, respectively.
In stocks, Calian Group (CGY.TO) jumped 10.25% to a record high of C$94.08 after it reported a third-quarter earnings beat earlier this morning.
