The S&P Global US services index was revised downwards to 56.5 in August from the 56.8 flash reading, as expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:35 am ET.
The August index is still above the 54.6 reading in July. Growth reached its highest level in 20 months, remaining well above the long-run trend.
The index indicates expansion. Other regional services data were mixed.
S&P Global noted stronger demand, a rise in new business and the best employment growth since January 2025. Confidence in the outlook remained firm.
