Rocket Doctor (AIDR.CN) has sealed its first value-based primary care provider agreement and a specialty services agreement with a California independent physician association (IPA).
The initial one-year agreement, with automatic annual renewals, will support 30,000 covered members through the IPA network and increase Rocket Doctor's total coverage across California to 8.2 million covered lives, a statement said.
Primary care physicians will be assigned "panels" of patients under a recurring per-member-per-month care model. Doctors will provide primary and preventative care services, and coordinate specialist referrals with the aim of improving long term patient outcomes. Expanding its primary care provider models is an important part of its U.S. growth strategy, Rocket Doctor said.
The speciality services agreement will see Rocket Doctor provide in-network coverage to over 5 million patients across nine payers and 65 health insurance products.
