Redbook US same-store sales rose by 9.1% from a year earlier in the week ended June 6 after a 9.0% year-over-year increase in the previous week, with seasonal buying accounting for a smaller share of activity than in recent weeks.
"June marks the peak of seasonal business before the traditional July clearance sales; it's a crucial month for most retailers," Redbook noted.
June is a five-week month on the retail calendar, ending on July 4 with two shopping events - Father's Day and Independence Day.
Through the first selling week for June, sales were up 9.1% compared with June 2025, below the target for a 10.6% gain, Redbook said.
