Quarterhill Receives UK Registration for Multilane Intersection Radar Technology

Quarterhill's (QTRH.TO) proprietary multilane intersection radar has achieved registration required for traffic signal detection technology deployed in the UK, the company said Thursday.

The TOPAS 2505B registration builds on Quarterhill's presence in the U.K. market and extends the company's technologies into intersection detection.

The technology provides transport authorities with an above-ground alternative to traditional inductive loop detection for complex, multilane intersections and helps reduce roadwork, installation costs and traffic disruption associated with in-road sensors.

Kinross Gold Lowers 2026, 2027 Gold Production Outlook

Kinross Gold (K.TO) after trade Wednesday lowered its 2026 and 2027 production outlook, now expecting annual attributable production of about 1.84 million to 1.86 million gold equivalent ounces, 2% to 3% under its prior targets.The change to the guidance is mainly due to extreme weather and operational challenges at two smaller mines, La Coipa and Round Mountain, the company said, adding that it expects to produce about 425,000 gold equivalent ounces in the third quarter.The company also said it now expects production cost of sales for 2026 of about $1,420 to $1,460 per gold equivalent ounce sold and all-in sustaining costs of about $1,850 to $1,900 per ounce sold."Reflecting its strong cash flow outlook and balance sheet strength, Kinross is increasing its return of capital target from 40% to 50% of free cash flow to shareholders for 2026," it added.
