QuantumScape Signs Multi-Year Solid-State Battery Research Deal With Honda

QuantumScape (QS) has entered a joint research agreement with Honda R&D, a unit of Honda Motor (HMC), to advance its solid-state lithium-metal battery technology and related manufacturing processes, the company said Thursday.

The multi-year collaboration follows Honda's completion of a prior evaluation of QuantumScape's platform, which included technical testing and benchmarking against competing battery technologies, it added.

QuantumScape said the deal combines its solid-state battery expertise with Honda's engineering to advance potential EV and mobility applications.

Shares of QuantumScape were up over 8% in Thursday trading.
