Infrastructure company PMW International (KLSE:PMW) has begun work at its new spun pile manufacturing facility in Bemban in Malaysia, and has conducted the groundbreaking for the project, according to a Wednesday filing to the Malaysian stock exchange.
The company also signed a letter of award between the company's wholly owned subsidiary, PMW International, and ECJ Construction, for the main construction works of the Bemban facility.
Construction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027, while commercial operations are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2027.
The company has planned a capital investment of around 43.8 million Malaysian ringgit for the Bemban facility, which will be developed on 12 acres of industrial land in Kawasan Perindustrian Bemban, Perak.
The new unit is estimated to have a production capacity of 40,000 tons of spun concrete piles per month, more than doubling the group's current capacity.
The company's shares were down 2% in recent trade.
