Plaza Retail REIT Special Committee Reviewing Options Following Axia's Take-Private Offer

Plaza Retail REIT (PLZ-UN.TO) said Thursday the committee that was formed to review an unsolicited acquisition proposal from Axia Real Assets has received "inbound interest" from other parties.

The special committee is formally reviewing the strategic options available to it, along with its continuing assessment of Axia's proposal that was announced in early July, a statement said.

Axia is proposing to take Plaza Retail REIT private at C$5.28 per unit.

Plaza units were last seen up C$0.08 at C$5.28 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

WSP Global Reports Higher Earnings and Revenue for the Second Quarter; Q3, 2026 Outlooks Set

WSP Global (WSP.TO) after trade Wednesday reported second-quarter adjusted net earnings per share of C$2.88, up from C$2.35 a year ago.Analysts polled by FactSet expected C$2.83.Revenue for the quarter ended June 26 was C$5.40 billion, up from C$4.51 billion a year ago. Net revenue rose to C$4.27 billion, compared with C$3.48 billion a year earlier.Analysts polled by FactSet expected sales of C$4.22 billion.The company raised the lower end of its 2026 net revenue guidance to C$16.2 billion from C$16 billion, while maintaining the upper end at C$17 billion. For Q3, it expects net revenue of C$4.15 billion to C$4.35 billion.
