Plains All American Pipeline (PAA) and Plains GP (PAGP) said Wednesday that a subsidiary has signed a definitive deal to acquire SCM PR II, known as Silver Creek, for about $585 million in cash from Tailwater Capital and Energy and Minerals units.
Silver Creek owns and operates an integrated crude oil gathering system in the Powder River Basin, providing access to Plains' existing Rockies infrastructure, according to a statement.
The acquisition includes roughly 600 miles of crude oil pipelines, over 350,000 barrels per day of operating capacity, 1.2 million barrels of operational storage capacity, and 49% non-operated interest in the Powder River Gateway JV, the companies said.
The deal is expected to close in Q4, subject to clearance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 and other closing conditions, Plains said.
