Penumbra (PEN) has received the CE Mark in Europe for its Thunderbolt computer-assisted vacuum thrombectomy technology for acute ischemic stroke, the company said Monday.
The approval expands the availability of Thunderbolt into Europe after the company received US Food and Drug Administration clearance for the device last week, it said.
Thunderbolt introduces modulated aspiration technology to remove blood clots during stroke treatment, Penumbra said.
