Palo Alto Networks (PANW), International Business Machines (IBM), and Red Hat said Wednesday they expanded Project Lightwell to accelerate vulnerability detection and protection across software and operational technology environments.
The companies said the initiative integrates Palo Alto Networks' virtual patching technology with Project Lightwell's software remediation capabilities, enabling organizations to implement network-level defenses while preparing long-term fixes.
The combined approach aims to reduce the time between vulnerability discovery and protection, with support for preemptive coverage and, in some cases, same-day deployment of virtual patches, the companies said.
