Pacifica Silver Appoints Stephen Redak as Vice President of Exploration

Pacifica Silver (PSIL.CN) said Tuesday it appointed Stephen Redak as vice president of exploration.

Steve Weiss, who was the interim vice president of exploration, will continue as a technical advisor, said the company.

Redak held the role as exploration manager for Mexico and Nevada at Hecla Mining Company, (HL), the company added.

"His proven track record in Mexico's Sierra Madre Occidental, deep understanding of epithermal vein systems and operational experience will be instrumental as we accelerate drilling and advance the Claudia Project," said Chief Executive Officer Todd Anthony. "We are also grateful that Dr. Weiss will stay on as technical advisor to ensure a seamless transition and ongoing technical rigor as Pacifica Silver moves forward with its aggressive exploration plans."

Shares of the company were last seen up C$0.01, or 0.8%, to C$1.30 on the Canadian Securities Exchange.

Canadian National Railway Moves a Monthly Record Amount of Grain in June

Canadian National Railway (CNR.TO, CNI) on Friday said it moved 2.67 million metric tonnes (MMT) of grain from Western Canada in June, a record for the month.The amount exceeds the previous June record of 2.64 MMT set in June 2020, the company said."Despite heavy rainfall that affected parts of Western Canada, CN worked with customers to adjust shipping plans and move grain from available locations, maintaining strong network fluidity and efficiently moving the grain to export markets," added the company.The company's shares were last seen up C$0.41 to C$172.62 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.Price: $172.50, Change: $+0.29, Percent Change: +0.17%
