Otsuka's Profit Jumps 8.4% in H1; Interim Dividend Declared

Otsuka (TYO:4768) recorded an 8.4% rise in attributable profit for the six months ended June 30 to 37 billion yen from 34.1 billion yen a year prior.

Earnings per share stood at 97.36 yen in the half year, according to a Monday Tokyo bourse filing.

The office equipment company's net sales climbed 9% to 757.5 billion yen from 695.1 billion yen in the year-ago period.

The company declared an interim dividend of 55 yen per share for the period.

The company expects an attributable profit of 64.9 billion yen, basic EPS of 171.15 yen, net sales of 1.379 trillion yen, and a total dividend of 105 yen per share for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31.

The company revised its full year-earnings and dividend forecasts in an upward manner based on its interim results, the market environment, and outlook for the future.
