Oshkosh (OSK) said Thursday it is making an equity investment in Nextera Robotics, an artificial intelligence and robotics firm developing autonomous technologies for construction project management and job site intelligence.
Financial details were not provided.
Nextera was selected for its Didge platform, which combines autonomous mobile robots with AI-powered analytics to provide safety monitoring, quality control, progress tracking, digital documentation and real-time reporting, according to Oshkosh.
The company said its JLG unit's ClearSky Smart Fleet combined with Nextera's platform would provide a more complete view of equipment performance and overall job site activity.
Shares of Oshkosh were down 2.5% in Thursday trading.
