Orla Mining Providing Update on Illegal Work Stoppage and Blockade at Camino Rojo

Orla Mining Ltd. (OLA.TO and NYSE: ORLA) on Thursday provided an update on the work stoppage and blockade that has temporarily halted operations at the Camino Rojo Mine in Zacatecas, Mexico since June 1.

The company said it met yesterday with union representatives and the Mexican Department of Federal Labour Conciliation to reach a resolution. The meeting, initially scheduled for June 2, was held on June 3.

An investigative panel appointed under the terms of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) found severe violations of human and labor rights occurred at Orla's Camino Rojo mine in Zacatecas, Mexico, the United Steelworkers (USW) union said recently.

CIBC Says Received TSX Approval for Normal Course Issuer Bid

The Toronto Stock Exchange has accepted notice of CIBC's (CM.TO and NYSE: CM) intention to make a new normal course issuer bid, the bank said Thursday.CIBC added it has completed its purchase for cancellation of 20 million common shares under its previous normal course issuer bid and has terminated it. As announced on May 28, 2026, CIBC intends to purchase for cancellation up to 30 million common shares under the new NCIB, representing approximately 3.3% of CIBC's 912,835,441 issued and outstanding common shares as of May 31, 2026.The maximum number of shares that may be repurchased by CIBC under the new NCIB (30 million common shares), when aggregated with the 20 million common shares repurchased under the previous NCIB, represents approximately 5.5% of CIBC's public float of 912,564,072 common shares as of May 31, 2026, the bank noted.CIBC said its purchase of common shares under a NCIB is consistent with the priority of "maintaining balance sheet strength, while generating shareholder value through a balanced capital deployment strategy".Purchases under the bid may commence through the TSX on or after June 8, 2026.CIBC has also entered into an automatic share purchase plan (ASPP).Shares in CIBC were down $0.86 or near 0.6% at $149.27 in Canada yesterday.

Aimia Confirms the Launch of its Normal Course Issuer Bid

Aimia (AIM.TO) announced Thursday that the Toronto Stock Exchange approved its previously-announced normal course issuer bid.The company has received approval to purchase for cancellation up to around 5 million of its common shares, or 10% of the public float of around 50.1 million common shares as at May 29, 2026, through the facilities of the TSX and through alternative Canadian trading systems, or by exempt offers or block purchases, during the period from June 8, 2025 to no later than June 7, 2027, it said."As at May 29, 2026, there were 88,565,885 issued and outstanding common shares and Aimia has repurchased 3,725,400 of its common shares over the 12 past months out of the 5,906,629 shares that were authorized for repurchase and cancelation by the TSX during the 2025-2026 NCIB program," added the company. "The weighted average price of the shares purchased was $2.87 per share. "

Future Fuels Provides Results of 3D Gravity Inversion at Hornby Basin

Future Fuels (FTUR.V) provided results of advanced processing and 3D inversion modelling of its 2025 ground gravity survey at its 100%-owned Hornby Basin Uranium project, located about 95 kilometers southwest of Kugluktuk, Nunavut, on Thursday.Results show that the known Mountain Lake uranium system is coincident with a discrete density signature in the 3D model (ML-Anom-1), providing a powerful geophysical calibration point and confirming gravity inversion as an effective uranium targeting tool across the Hornby Basin, it said. A new priority target, South-Anom-1, has been outlined south of the Aquitaine Fault corridor, sitting in the same structural-stratigraphic setting as the Mountain Lake system and remaining open for first-pass drill testing.The company said the Jenny Lake target area is defined by a continuous density feature, JL-Anom-1, that persists across the survey area north of the Imperial Fault, presenting "district-scale follow-up potential." Additional discrete targets, North-Anom-1, North-Anom-2 and North-Anom-3, all have been defined north of the Jenny Lake target area, including a fault-parallel feature in a structural setting analogous to that hosting the Mountain Lake deposit, it said.Future Fuels is using gravity inversion at Hornby as a uranium-architecture tool, providing insights to the sandstone thickness, basement relief, fault corridors, structural blocks and possible alteration, the company said."Hornby is prospective for two of the most important uranium deposit styles in Canada, and this gravity model resolves the architecture that controls both," said Future Fuels Chief Executive Rob Leckie. "The known Mountain Lake uranium system has given us a calibration point we can now apply across the entire Project."The company's shares last traded June 2, closing at $0.39 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
