Origin Global Empire Public Company (SET:EMPIRE) has decided to cancel its planned acquisition of Medika Assets, according to a Thursday filing to the Thai stock exchange.
In June, subsidiary Empire Infinity had agreed to buy Medika from Amnaj Boojeera for 43.7 million baht. The company cited asset‑transfer uncertainties and a revised strategy, adding the cancellation will not materially affect its financials, liquidity or operations.
In its review, the company found that the registration of buildings and structures comprising Medika's key operating assets remained incomplete, warning that proceeding could add costs, risks and legal disputes.
The seller agreed to terminate the deal and refund all amounts with 11% annual interest on Sept. 1. Empire said the cancellation will preserve liquidity, lower funding costs and redirect capital to core projects under its revised strategy.
