Orezone Gold (ORE.TO) said Wednesday after trade its second-quarter adjusted earnings doubled to $0.08 per share, from $0.04 per share.
The result missed the consensus analyst forecast of $0.10 per share, according to FactSet.
Orezone generated record revenue of $271.6 million, a 187% year over year increase, and above the $258 million expected.
The company reported record quarterly gold production of 58,566 ounces, compared with 27,548 ounces in the second quarter of last year. Gold sales totaled 60,654 ounces at an average realized price of $4,401 per ounce.
The record gold production was due to Casa Beradi's contribution, a statement said.
"The second quarter marked an important milestone for Orezone with our first full quarter as a two-mine gold producer following the acquisition of Casa Berardi. Both operations performed in line with expectations, delivering strong financial results and robust cash flow. At Bombore, we continued advancing the Stage 2A hard rock expansion, while at Casa Berardi, we continued laying the foundation for long-term value through operational improvements, underground development, and exploration," said Chief Executive Patrick Downey.
Orezone Gold will release the Casa Berardi Life-of-Mine Study in September.
Orezone Gold shares edged down C$0.01 to C$2.65 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
