OPEC, China Pledge Deeper Energy Cooperation at High-Level Beijing Talks

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and Chinese energy officials met in Beijing for their eighth high-level dialogue, emphasizing oil market stability, energy security and China's enduring role in global demand.

Highlighting projections from OPEC's World Oil Outlook, officials noted that China is expected to remain one of the primary drivers of global oil demand through 2050, the organization stated on Wednesday.

Both sides underscored China's vital position in global economic expansion and future energy frameworks, according to a statement.

The 9th High-Level Meeting is scheduled to take place in Vienna, Austria, in 2027, OPEC said.
