The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development lowered its 2026 gross domestic product forecast for Saudi Arabia as economic output in the first half dropped due to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
In its latest Economic Outlook report published Wednesday, the OECD said it now expects the kingdom's GDP to contract 1.8% in 2026, compared with the previous 3.2% growth estimate released in June. For 2027, the projected growth was trimmed by 0.2 percentage points to 4.1%.
Meanwhile, the projected headline inflation rate for Saudi Arabia is expected to come in at 1.8% in 2026, down by 0.2 percentage point. In 2027, the headline inflation rate forecast remained at 2.1%.
