The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) raised its GDP growth outlook for South Korea in 2026 to 3.7% from 2.6% in June, according to the organization's updated economic outlook published Wednesday.
The anticipated growth is up from the 1.1% expansion in 2025.
The organization also upgraded its 2027 growth forecast for Korea by 0.7 percentage points from the June guidance to 2.6%.
It expects headline inflation in Korea to reach 3.0% this year, up 0.4 percentage points from its previous forecast, and higher than the 2.1% rise in consumer prices in 2025.
Inflation is predicted to ease to 2.7% in 2027, also faster than the previous 2.2% forecast.
The OECD expects strong industrial production and export growth to push Korea's growth in 2026, before easing in 2027 due to more modest private consumption growth.
