The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development raised its 2026 economic growth forecast for Germany, bolstered by a recovery in exports despite global economic headwinds from persistent Middle East conflict uncertainty.
In its latest Economic Outlook report published Wednesday, the OECD said it now expects gross domestic product for the euro area's largest economy to grow 1.1% in 2026, up 0.4 percentage points from its June forecast. For 2027, GDP is still projected to expand 1.1%.
Meanwhile, the projected headline inflation rate in Germany is expected to come in at 2.9% in 2026 and 3.3% in 2027, up by 0.2 percentage points and 0.5 percentage points, respectively, from the previous forecasts.
