The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) retained its GDP growth outlook for China for 2026 at 4.5%, slower than the 5% expansion in 2025, according to the organization's updated economic outlook published Wednesday.
The forecast was unchanged from OECD's previous outlook issued in June.
However, the organization downgraded its 2027 growth forecast for China to 4.2% from the previous 4.3%.
It expects headline inflation in China to reach 1.4% this year, down from its previous 1.5% forecast, and reversing the 0.1% drop in consumer prices in 2025.
Inflation is predicted to accelerate to 1.9% in 2027.
The OECD expects government policies targeting excessive capacity will dampen economic growth.
