The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development lowered its 2026 and 2027 economic growth estimates for France amid higher energy prices and continued uncertainty over the evolution of the Middle East war.
The OECD now expects France's gross domestic product to grow 0.4% in 2026 and 0.7% in 2027, according to its latest Economic Outlook report published Wednesday. The figures are down by 0.3 percentage points and 0.1 percentage point, respectively, from the forecasts in June.
Meanwhile, the projected headline inflation rate in the country was increased by 0.4 percentage points to 2.5% in 2026, while the 2027 forecast now stands 0.3 percentage points higher at 2.1%.
