The US National Weather Service said parts of the northern Plains could experience severe thunderstorms on Wednesday, with risks of large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.
Parts of the southern and northern Plains may face flooding risks due to thunderstorms and heavy to excessive rainfall.
The NWS early Wednesday raised a red flag warning for Idaho's Mountain Home, Jerome, Twin Falls, and Caldwell, primarily served by Idacorp's (IDA) Idaho Power.
In Texas, the NWS issued a flash flood warning for Lubbock, Post, Snyder, Seminole, and Morton. Meanwhile, a flood warning was raised for George West and Freer. Xcel Energy (XEL) and American Electric Power's (AEP) Texas unit are among the major electric service providers in the state.
Muskogee in Oklahoma, primarily served by OGE Energy (OGE) unit Oklahoma Gas & Electric, was also placed under a flash flood warning.
The NWS issued a flood warning was issued for Searcy in Arkansas, served by Entergy's (ETR) Arkansas unit.
A similar warning was also issued for areas near Winthrop in Washington, where Puget Sound Energy is among the major service providers.
Affected areas in Missouri included Nevada and Clinton. Evergy, Ameren's (AEE) Missouri unit, and Algonquin Power & Utilities (AQN) subsidiary Liberty are the major service providers in the state.
A flood warning was also issued for Pine Ridge in South Dakota.
