The US National Weather Service said portions of the central Plains stretching into the upper Great Lakes could experience scattered severe thunderstorms on Friday, with potential for large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.

The NWS issued a red flag warning for Arizona's Grand Canyon Village, Seligman, and Page, served by Pinnacle West Capital (PNW) unit Arizona Public Service Company.
In Kansas, a flood warning was raised for Salina, Concordia, Manhattan and areas near Topeka and Atchinson, while a flash flood warning was issued for parts of Northeast Kansas. Evergy (EVRG) is among the major electric utility service providers in the state.
A flood warning was raised for Missouri's Clinton, Nevada, Rockport, Maryville, and St. Joseph, while Bethany, Grant City, and areas near Maryville were placed under a flash flood warning. Evergy, Ameren's (AEE) Missouri unit, and Algonquin Power & Utilities (AQN) subsidiary Liberty are the major service providers in Missouri.
Searcy in Arkansas, served by Entergy's (ETR) Arkansas unit; and areas near Winthrop in Washington, where Puget Sound Energy is among the major service providers, were also covered under a flood warning.
Affected areas in South Dakota included Miller and areas near Watertown and Brookings.
