Northland Power (NPI.TO) said Tuesday that the Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan has secured C$2.4 billion of new debt financing, with C$0.9 billion representing incremental funding.
This incremental funding and expected pre-completion revenue will cover project funding requirements, a statement said.
Hai Long has a total capacity of 1,022 megawatts and is underpinned by 30-year off-take contracts. It is scheduled for commercial operations in 2027.
"We have achieved a significant milestone at Hai Long, and this financing reflects the strength of the Project and the critical role offshore wind plays in Taiwan's energy future," said Northland Chief Executive Officer Christine Healy.
Northland Power shares were last seen up C$0.43 at C$21.77 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
