Northland Power's (NPI.TO) 1.1-gigawatt offshore wind project in the Baltic Sea has achieved first power, the Canadian-headquartered power producer said Friday.
Baltic Power, owned 49% by Northland and 51% by ORLEN, has delivered the first offshore wind-generated electricity to Poland's national grid. Baltic Power is designed to generate about 4 terawatt-hours of electricity per year once operational.
Fifty-four of a total 76 turbines have been installed, and the project is on track for commercial operations in the second half of 2026.
