Nomura Holdings (TYO:8604) posted a 39% year-over-year surge in net income attributable to shareholders for the fiscal first quarter to 145.6 billion yen from 104.6 billion yen.
The financial holding company's earnings per share were 48.34 yen, compared with 34.04 yen a year earlier, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Wednesday.
Total revenue rose 19% to 1.372 trillion yen for the three months ended June from 1.157 trillion for the three months ended June 30.
